Balinese Homestay

A Balinese Homestay in Teluk Bahang

The Balinese Homestay, a family run chalet is a beauty. Somewhere in the

town of this fishing village, a Malay local decided to turn his family house into a lovely chalet.

The 3 room chalet is situated near the roundabout. On the right side of the roundabout is the famous restaurant "End of the World". The road your left of this same roundabout leads to the gorgeous kampong house.

It is nothing to cry about. A nice garden to relax and experience the kampong life. Wake up and go for a walk in the hills and forest of Teluk Bahang. The reason to stay there is to enjoy the lovely seafood and see the dusk coming in and simply be drown in this ambiance. The Bay of Glowing Ember is best seen at the end of the world.

Coming to the tip of Penang Island is really like what they say, the end of the world. But for me, it is the beginning for all adventures. Hiking, going fishing are activities I never enjoyed in the past.

Balinese homestay may be a little way out from the jetty and it is good for some who won't like the smell of a fishing village. But if you like the smell of the fishing village, here is another chalet near to the sea and Teluk Bahang Jetty. For me, it is great for a weekend escape, with clean rooms and simplicities of life in a fishing village. But my time is spent hiking and boating, seeing the relax life of locals on the end of the world in Teluk Bahang Penang.

The Teluk Bahang Dam is another beautiful spot to see. Spice Garden used to be a bungalow called Lone Craig. With some imagination they converted it into a spice garden. It has a spectacular view up there. Man made waterfalls created to make your climb enjoyable. It is a pity the Penang Batik Craft Centre has closed down. But overall we had lots of fun and carries back memories. I know you would too.

Don't look further unless you are looking for a few stars hotel. Then Lone Pine Hotel is not far away. Or nearer the Jetty or beach, it is ideal especially for families and those our on a food hunt. Great choices of Penang Hotels here.

Goddess of Mercy
Kuan Yin is the most popular goddess associated with Buddhism among the Chinese and her statues and alters are found commonly in temples, homes, and shops.

She is reportedly able to transform herself into 84 different forms.

The most popular among Chinese worshippers is of her clad in a white dress, resting on a lotus flower, to symbolizes the pureness of heart.
